About Me:

Have your needs been placed on the treadmill and covered by dust and a pile of clothes? Lucky for you, organization is my strength and I can help you find your way back to them. I am passionate about working with adults and couples, I will teach you skills to improve your ability to communicate, connect, and co-parent more effectively. I understand the challenges that arise from divorce and single-parenting. Common areas addressed in couples therapy include pre-marital counseling, co-parenting, sex and intimacy issues, infidelity, and separation or divorce.

As a trauma-informed EMDR therapist, I help clients heal from attachment wounds, relational trauma, and Complex PTSD experiences. Different than regular "talk therapy," this evidence-based therapy tends to work faster than other therapies by allowing the brain to reprocess a distressing experience or memory through bilateral stimulation. A relatively brief therapy, many clients report a significant reduction in level of distress in just one or two sessions. Research shows that EMDR can be used to successfully treat anxiety, depression, betrayal trauma, PTSD, and many others.

If you're not living in alignment with your core values, no wonder you're feeling unhappy and dysregulated every day! I'll meet you right where you are and help you stretch just outside your comfort zone towards growth. I incorporate mindfulness, creativity, and humor into my practice. Knick-named "The Carrot Top of Counseling,” I use props and visual aids when offering psychoeducation. Why? Because as a tactile learner, I feel it just helps analogies make more sense. Best of all, I'm human too, and just may laugh or shed a tear right along with you.

With 18 years of experience as a licensed therapist, my goal is to create a sense of safety within the therapeutic relationship where you feel heard and understood without judgment. Life beats us up enough. Why are you reaching for the stick? You are enough! Now, let's roll up our sleeves and begin working towards believing that.

As the Clinical Director of the Wellness Connection LLC, I lead collaborative efforts among our team of clinicians to improve the overall care of our clients. A Virginia Board-Approved Supervisor, I also provide supervision for Interns and Residents in Counseling.

If you feel we might work well together, let's connect.

More About Me:

In my free time, I like to...

Wait! Free time, what's that? A more honest response would be that I daydream about lying on a sunny beach, reading for pleasure with no laundry to fold or weeds to pull. I enjoy going to a winery with family and friends, decorating for holidays, snuggling my pup, upscaling a thrift store find, doing arts and crafts with my daughter, and listening to live music.
