Stephanie Watson is a dedicated mental health resident pursuing dual licensure in both art therapy and talk therapy. With a deep belief that there is never a wrong time to start therapy, Stephanie views the therapeutic journey as a proactive step toward self-awareness, growth, and emotional well-being -rather than a reactive response to crisis.
Her passion for art is not just a personal interest but a powerful tool she integrates into her therapeutic approach. Stephanie believes that creativity can unlock insights and healing in ways words sometimes cannot. Through the fusion of traditional talk therapy and expressive art techniques, she creates a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their inner worlds, process emotions, and build resilience.
Stephanie is committed to helping individuals of all backgrounds discover the transformative potential of therapy -whether through conversation, canvas, or both.
Stephanie practices under the supervision of Melanie Davis, LPC and Ellen Coplon, ATR-BC.
Education:
M.A. in Art Therapy and Counseling, Southwestern College
M.S. in Psychology, Minor in Disability Studies, Virginia Tech
About Me:
I was born and raised in Northern Virginia. Throughout my life, I have always loved animals and always had at least one pet. I currently have two cats named Bonnie and Clyde. After work, you can find me snuggled up with one of them, while reading a good book or crocheting.
